Privacy and security features include:

Optional Sandboxed Google Play

GrapheneOS does not require Google Play Services to function.

However, users who need Google-dependent applications can install sandboxed Google Play. Unlike conventional privileged Google Play integration, GrapheneOS allows Google Play to operate within the standard application sandbox.
This gives users greater flexibility to choose which Google services they want while maintaining the GrapheneOS security model.

Important App Compatibility Information

GrapheneOS provides strong compatibility with standard Android applications, but buyers should be aware that some banking, contactless payment, DRM, corporate or security-sensitive applications may impose their own software requirements.

If you depend on a specific banking, payment or business application, please check its GrapheneOS compatibility before purchasing.
Certain proprietary Google Pixel AI and camera features may also require specific Google applications or sandboxed Google Play services.
